An injured snake discovered hiding in a steady was pressured to have a part of its tail amputated after being attacked by a cat.

The grass snake named “Butter” was discovered on a plot of land on the Spirits Rest Dartford Horse and Animal Sanctuary on Sunday (February 25).

The web site, in Binnie Road, Temple Hill, houses a number of horses rescued from neglect and likewise gives college journeys to kids with a love for animals.

However, there was one creature which proprietor Christine Bates didn’t anticipate to see injured on her grounds on the weekend.

Founder, Ciara O’Hare, then carried out the rescue with Calum Laws, a volunteer on the charity and so they transported Butter throughout the Dartford Crossing for remedy at South Essex Wildlife Hospital in Orsett, Grays.

He has remained on the hospital for the reason that weekend after present process an operation on his tail.

A spokesman for the hospital mentioned: “This poor grass snake arrived in our care after being caught by a cat.

Butter continues to relaxation and obtain treatment on the hospital.

Cllr Laura Edie helped rescue Butter and get him on the mend
