MOUNTAIN BROOK, Alabama (WVTM) — With the warmer weather condition, more individuals are seeing snakes enter their houses this season.
A main Alabama man and his group travel throughout the location to help securely record them.
Chelsea and Mountain Brook are the most significant hotbeds today, Snake Removers owner Mark Hay said.
He recorded a copperhead after a kid in a Mountain Brook community found the snake when he went to recover his basketball.
Thankfully, the kid understood to keep an eye out for prospective snakes and called for help.
This is a circumstance Hay thinks will take place typically, specifically throughout the summer season.
“Right now, we are having temperatures that are almost 100 (degrees) this week. You are not going to see a snake between 10 and, say 4 or 5 o’clock. They’re going to be out earlier in the morning and later in the evening when the sun isn’t so critical,” Hay said.
To help prevent altercations with snakes, specialists suggest:
– Keep your turf cut – Never put your hands and feet in locations you can’t see initially – Carry a flashlight when it’s dark – Call an expert snake eliminator to do the job if you find them in your location
