A safe yet protective leopard snake was found in its striking position in somebody’s field in Siġġiewi.
The video footage was sent out over by the owner of the field to Lovin Malta, revealing the snake, called lifgħa in Maltese, hissing and striking towards the video camera.
Talking with snake conservationist Ellie Dobbs, she described how snakes just enter a striking position when they are feeling threatened.
” Although the snake is safe and not poisonous in any method, the public must still avoid attempting to hold or interfere with the snake, as it’s unlawful to do so,” Dobbs described.
The leopard snake is among Malta’s native snakes, with its circulation mostly staying unidentified throughout the islands.
