A Sunlight Coast female got more than she imagined as she was preparing for bed one night.

It had to do with 11pm when the Mapleton local saw that her dog was acting odd.

After bring up the family pet’s bed she found her finest mate’s cause for issue as a little snake fell out from below it and wriggled behind a cabinet.

Homeowner ‘spooked’ over unforeseen bandy bandy discover

The group at Snake Rescue Sunny Coast was heading home from another task when they got the call.

“Bandy Bandys aren’t too common around here,” snake catcher Dimity Maxfield informed Yahoo News Australia. “They are about but because they’re a nocturnal species that live under the leaf litter, they’re quite rarely seen. To be inside [a house], it is quite rare.”

It’s thought the snake had actually moved through a door that was exposed all afternoon, providing the house owner an unforeseen surprise.

“She was a little bit spooked to start off with and she just kind of wanted it out of her bedroom,” Dimity said.

“They’re quite small and to be honest when they do bite, if they do bite, it’s very, very rare and it’s typically just localised signs, absolutely nothing clinically substantial, generally simply localised discomfort in the location and swelling,” she said. “With these guys in particular, we just free-handle them because there’s no real risk of being bitten.”

Even still, she says individuals need to constantly call a snake catcher to eliminate them and never ever try it themselves. She likewise advised house owners to keep their doors closed.

“We live in Australia and even in the middle of winter they can come inside, they’re still active,” she said.

And when it comes to the “adorable” Bandy Bandy, who Dimity referred to as her preferred types, it was launched back into bushland with a lot of leaf litter to make itself really at home.

“He’s back in the wild doing his thing,” she included.
