Queue mayhem in the domestic terminal at Christchurch Airport on Tuesday June 6. One traveler said they were around the foodcourt.
Delays for security checks at Christchurch Airport’s domestic departures on Tuesday early morning developed lines snaking through the foodcourt and postponed an aircraft’s departure.
An individual in the line, who did not want to be called, said the security had just 2 lanes running.
“Lots of people were still in the queue when their flights were being called,” they said.
After lastly boarding their aircraft from Christchurch to Auckland, the pilot informed those on board they needed to wait on travelers who were captured out in the blockage.
A Christchurch Airport representative said they were uninformed of lines or flight hold-ups, however would follow up.
