The discovery of a big black cobra coiled within the bag of an unidentified neatly dressed man has precipitated panic on the inner affairs ministry.
The discovery was made on the checkpoint, by Police officers and immigration officers manning the doorway.
It is alleged that a number of of the company who have been already within the queue awaiting to be checked additionally fled in disbelief as administration took motion to resolve the difficulty.

“We have over time found people carrying all types of strange items,” ministry spokesperson Simon Mundeyi says.
Mundeyi, whereas addressing a weekly joint safety briefing on the Police headquarters in Naguru, Kampala suburb on Monday (December 18, 2023), disclosed {that a} man was lately stopped carrying a really giant snake on the ministry’s checkpoint.
“Thankfully, our security personnel handled it, otherwise it would have caused a problem at the ministry gate. The snake is a cobra, black in colour, coiled. We thank God that the security officer did not put the hand inside to try to check but the snake was there,” Mundeyi mentioned.
“I wonder how a sane Ugandan, who is coming to seek for services of passports at the ministry, comes with a snake in a very huge bag. That is something that left us in shock,” he added.
However, Mundeyi, famous that the proprietor mentioned the snake was his brother throughout interrogation.
“Those are things we do not allow. So, please if you are coming to the ministry to seek services, come with a small bag. If you have a snake or a pet, leave it somewhere or in the car before you approach the ministry’s gate,” he added.
