A 25-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly killing his spouse and two-year-old daughter by releasing a venomous snake into their room in Odisha’s Ganjam district, police stated.
The incident took place over a month-and-half in the past in Adheigaon village in Kabisurya Nagar police station space, round 60 km from right here.
The accused, recognized as Okay Ganesh Patra, was having a marital dispute together with his spouse Okay Basanti Patra, 23. They have been married in 2020 and had a two-year-old daughter named Debasmita.
The accused had allegedly procured a snake from a snake charmer, mendacity to him that he would use the reptile for non secular functions, a police officer stated.
On October 6, he introduced a cobra in a plastic jar and launched the snake into the room the place his spouse and daughter slept.
