Indian Forest Service officers often share photos and videos of their wild encounters during field visits.
Most of the photos shared by them are fascinating to see because not everyone is equipped or skilled enough to capture them.
But recently, when Parveen Kaswan shared a photograph of a Green Pit Viper nestled between wild mushrooms, most of his followers thought it wasn’t real.
Kaswan said he had spotted the snake while observing mushrooms. Sharing the photo of the snake, he wrote on Twitter: “I was just observing the mushrooms. Suddenly found this beauty. They look so unreal and colourful. Can stay for hours like this. During a long field walk. Called as Green Pit viper.”
While the green snake appears clearly at the centre, the photo creates the impression that it has been added with an editing tool. Some netizens even said it looked like a CGI snake.

A user wrote, “Next time Take a Video instead. Don’t give any reason to doubt. Hope you can understand, CGI is very advance these days; and the picture do look a bit improvised. “
“Wow..it’s so amazing. Mind blowing. Looks like a Photoshopped image.. (though I know it’s not),” wrote another user.
To put an end to all doubts, Kaswan shared three more images in the follow-up tweet of the snake. He wrote: “Sharing some more pictures. As I said they look so unreal.”
When he shared the same photo back in November, he wrote in a follow-up tweet that ‘Green vipers come in many species and it’s difficult to identify them by picture until you have not seen them from close’.
