“What she picked up was actually a juvenile copperhead,” she published to Facebook on the weekend.

The unbelievable image reveals the teen holding the poisonous snake in her arms while smiling.

However, simply minutes after the image was taken the snake struck and bit the lady, whose arm started to swell.

She was hurried to healthcare facility where anti-venom was administered.

“Please make sure your children are aware that even though nature is beautiful, it can be very dangerous,” Spain said.

“She’s discovering an extremely difficult lesson on when to simply leave things as they are.

“Don’t let your kids resemble mine.”

Additional pictures of the teen in healthcare facility revealed the lady scrunching her face in discomfort, while another revealed a close-up view of the holes left by the snake’s fangs on her inflamed wrist.

The post went on to bring in over 2,000 remarks, a great deal of whom argued Spain’s child must have identified the snake was really a lethal Copperhead – a typical types in the United States state of Virginia where the family live.

“There’s no similar looking harmless snake that looks like a copperhead,” someone said.

“I’m truthfully amazed it let her manage it rather much that thing might quickly have got her in the face,” another included.

However, others were more understanding and thanked the mom for sharing the suggestions.

“I’m sorry this has happened to your baby!! I’m just glad all is well!” one lady said.

“She’s going through a tough lesson learned moment, but I hope this doesn’t diminish her love for nature and wildlife!” another included.

The barrage of reactions triggered Spain to react in defence of their child’s “understandable lapse in judgement”.

“She has always been taught to admire wild animals from a distance, but we as her parents understand that she is 15 and won’t always make the best choices,” she countered.

“She has never seen a venomous snake in person up to this point. Stop acting like you were never a teenager that did stupid things.”

The lady returned home from healthcare facility on Sunday, and Spain says she is succeeding regardless of “some pain”.

“She appreciates all of the kind words and thoughts!” she said in an update.

“We hope this message reaches those around our area to keep other children, teens, and young adults safe. If you are unsure, leave it be!”

Copperhead snakes are accountable for more poisonous snakebites than any other types in the United States, according to the National Geographic, nevertheless, they are hardly ever deadly with just a handful of deaths reported over the last 100 years.
