A McDonald’s restaurant in East Sussex was pressured to close after a buyer introduced in stay bugs to feed a pet snake.
The buyer introduced the bugs and a snake into the fast-food chain in Drove Retail Park, Newhaven on Friday.
McDonald’s stated: “As quickly as we have been made conscious, we closed the restaurant and requested the shopper to depart.”
A spokesperson stated the restaurant re-opened later that night after a “thorough clear” was carried out.
“Pest management consultants have attended the restaurant to hold out precautionary checks and can proceed to observe,” they added.
