ARIMO, Idaho (KIFI) – On side-by-side fields Monday afternoon, the Marsh Valley Eagles protected a set of district titles, as the Eagles beat the Snake River Panthers in both baseball and softball to secure championship game.
On the baseball diamond, uneven numbers offered all of the offense. Snake River leapt out to an early 3-0 lead in the very first inning, however Marsh Valley created a five-run rally in the 3rd to get a 5-3 benefit, winning by the very same rating.
As for the softball fight, the bats lived and well. It was back-and-forth on the scoreboard early on, till the Eagles scored 15 runs in the period of 3 innings, ultimately winning 18-8.
Next up, Marsh Valley advances to the 3A state competition in both sports. The baseball group heads to Nampa while the softball will either dip into home or in Blackfoot.
As for Snake River, both Panther groups go to 3A local play-in video games Thursday at the Blackfoot Athletics Complex. The baseball team deals with South Fremont while the softball group squares off with Teton.
