Based on the intelligence acquired, the officers of DRI, Mumbai Zonal Unit, intercepted a person who arrived at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, from Bangkok on December 21.
Upon examination of the check-in baggage of the stated passenger, 9 ball pythons (Python regius) and two corn snakes (Pantherophis guttatus) have been discovered hid inside biscuit or cake packets. The identical have been seized underneath the Customs Act 1962.
The service of those unique species has been arrested.
