KOTA BHARU, April 4 (Bernama) — The Kelantan Civil Defence Force (APM) captured 1,073 snakes of varied species statewide in February.
Its director, Colonel Mohd Adzhar Mujab attributed this to the venomous reptiles rising from the forests as a result of scorching and dry climate.
He defined that through the present dry season, most snakes would disguise in cooler areas equivalent to beneath bricks, bushes and round homes.
“The Civil Defence Force caught a complete of 991 snakes in January and 934 snakes in March. Among the species are python, king cobra and monocled cobra,” he advised reporters on the Kota Bharu Welfare and Sports Volunteer Club Iftar occasion with orphans from Darul Kautsar and Pekayatim on the Kota Bharu Civil Defence District Office right here at this time.
Mohd Adzhar added that every one these animals had been returned to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks to be launched again into their habitats.
