The surgical ward of a federal government health center in Malappuram district of Kerala has actually been shut in view of snake scare. Around 10 snakelets were identified in the surgical ward of district health center at Perinthalmanna over the last couple of days.
There were 8 clients in the wards. All of them were moved to the medical ward. Local sources said that the snakelets were discovered to be getting in the ward through little spaces in the flooring tiles. The properties near the ward is rather bushy and for this reason the possibilities of more snakes are feared.
District medical officer informed DH that guidelines were offered to the authorities worried to check out the matter and take restorative procedures.
