A lady who opened the storage at her retirement village home in Howick Road, Pietermaritzburg obtained the fright of her life on Friday when she found a lethal rinkhals snake slithering round.

Mary Bizley mentioned she was about to run some errands and had opened her storage when she stumbled upon the snake at round 6 pm.

“I just stood still and did not move. It then hid by slithering behind some books. It was a huge snake and I realised a professional snake catcher was needed,” mentioned Bizley.
