Gurgaon: A city court on Thursday directed the police to register a case against YouTuber Elvish Yadav for allegedly using snakes in a music video shot at a mall in Sector 71. This will be the third FIR registered against the YouTuber in NCR.He was earlier booked by Noida police in a case related to the supply of snake venom at rave parties, and another for allegedly assaulting a content creator in Gurgaon. Elvish has been granted bail in both cases.The city court ordered an FIR on a complaint filed by a member of NGO People for Animals (PFA). Complainant Saurabh Gupta alleged that Elvish along with singer Rahul Yadav alias Fazilpur and others used various snakes listed under the Wildlife (Protection) Act in a video shot in Earth Iconic mall last year.Additional chief judicial magistrate Manoj Kumar Rana in his order on Thursday said, “After hearing the submissions by the complainant and meticulous examination of the case file, this court is of the view that the contents of the complaint disclose commission of cognisable offence… and is a fit case to be referred to the police for investigation…”The court further observed that the veracity of the allegations levelled by the complainant can only be ascertained by way of a fair and impartial investigation.“The SHO of Badshapur police station has been directed to register an FIR under relevant provisions of law and investigate the matter,” it stated.Saurabh Gupta of PFA had earlier moved the court, alleging a threat to his life after he helped expose the snake venom supply racket. “The police will finally now register a case against Elvish after the court order,” he said.Saurabh is the brother of Gaurav Gupta, the complainant against Elvish in the Noida case. Saurabh first approached Gurgaon police in Oct 2023 after he came across a video in which a YouTuber was seen with snakes. Elvish and five others were booked under IPC Section 120A (criminal conspiracy) and provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act in Noida on Nov 2. In Dec 2023, Saurabh approached the Gurgaon court, seeking an FIR against Elvish.On March 9, another Youtuber — Sagar Thakur alias Maxtern — had filed a complaint at Sector 53 police station, alleging that Elvish and his friends had thrashed him in a mall. Elvish was arrested on March 17 in connection with the snake venom supply case and granted bail by a Noida court on March 22. The next day, he was granted bail by a Gurgaon court in the assault case.
