A video showing to point out a drinker biting off a pet snake’s head in a pub has been described as “distressing” by West Midlands Police and the RSPCA.
The footage and an image of the snake’s head on a beer mat started circulating on-line this week after the incident at The Sportsman’s Rest, Kingstanding, Birmingham on Saturday.
West Midlands Police are taking the incident severely.
A West Midlands Police spokesman advised the Express & Star: “We have been made conscious of a distressing video which apparently reveals a person biting off the pinnacle of a pet snake at a pub in Kingstanding.
“The alleged incident occurred in entrance of kids on the venue and we’re conscious of the upset this could have induced to anybody who witnessed it.”
The spokesman added: “The incident wasn’t reported to us however we’re making enquiries and also will be passing on the video to the RSPCA who will perform their very own investigation.
