By Pramod Madhav: Devotees at Vadivudaiyamman temple in Chennai rejoiced after they found a snake atop the temple gopuram (huge entryway tower) on Maha Shivratri.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple and its gopurams were embellished with lights to commemorate the Maha Shivratri celebration where followers stay awake all night.
Around midnight, followers found the snake atop the temple gopuram, which at first left them shocked.
However, they rejoiced later on, thinking that the temple divine being himself was going to the Maha Shivratri celebration. Devotees started to enjoy the snake dance while the video of the snake atop the temple gopuram raising its head and walking around has actually now gone viral.
Extra procedures were required to accommodate numerous hundred followers on the advantageous day of Shivratri.
