A Victorian mom says she is fortunate to be alive after being bitten on the face by an jap brown snake which attacked as she sat in her yard pool.
Rutherglen resident Angela Jacobsen was stress-free in her pool studying a e-book earlier than college pick-up on Tuesday afternoon when the lethal snake approached.

“I don’t even know where it came from,” she instructed 7NEWS.
“I noticed something out of my peripheral so I lowered the book to see what it was, and it was an eastern brown snake.”
Panicked, Jacobsen screamed and the snake lunged, biting her on the face.
Jacobsen spent the night time at Wangaratta Hospital and credit her sun shades with saving her life.
“It was just a dry bite, (I’m) a very, very lucky girl,” she mentioned.
“I think the fangs have hit the end of the glasses and only maybe the bottom teeth have hit my face.
“I do think the glasses saved my life.”
The hardest half was having to lie within the hospital unable to maneuver her face for a number of hours, she joked.
Experts say brown snakes have deadly venom however not often inflict a lethal chunk until provoked.
“They’re not interested in biting,” Snakebusters proprietor Raymond Hoser instructed 7NEWS.
As for what to do should you come throughout a snake, he mentioned “the safest option is treat everything as dangerous”.
