Died in harmony on 11th May aged 98. It is said that everybody is either of someplace or no place. Jack was the really meaning of a man of someplace – North Tawton a little mid Devon town. He was born, raised and lived his entire life there and was quite part of the North Tawton and surrounding neighborhood. He was born in 1924 and informed at Okehampton Grammar School. On leaving school he signed up with Lloyds Bank operating in Tavistock. In 1947 and with exceptional insight he joined his Father Archie in the business now called Gregory Distribution. It had actually been annihilated by the Second World War and for the next 40 years Jack changed it from a regional shipment business working in combination with the train into a large local transportation and warehousing operation.
