PETALING JAYA: Aidilfitri celebrations for a household got here to a startling halt after they found a moulted snakeskin contained in the air-conditioner of their home in Kampung Kota Aur, Sik, Kedah, yesterday.
It is learnt {that a} member of the family had initially heard a loud hissing sound throughout the air-conditioner earlier than calling the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) personnel to help.
According to Berita Harian, Sik Bomba chief Zulkhairi Mat Tanjil, mentioned the division acquired a name concerning the matter at 7pm, yesterday earlier than deploying a workforce of seven personnel to the placement.
“After initially checking the premises for 15 minutes, the operation team only found the snakeskin inside the air-conditioning unit.
“The team continued to inspect other parts of the house to find the snake but the reptile had already gone missing.
“Based on the snakeskin, we believed that it belonged to a monocled cobra,” he informed the Malay day by day when contacted, at the moment.
He suggested the general public to stay cautious as the recent climate spell might immediate the cold-blooded creatures to hunt shelter in a cool and damp surroundings.
