New analysis suggests an unlimited snake might have as soon as known as India home.
Fossilized vertebrae discovered close to a coal mine in western India point out that the snake was between 36 toes and 50 toes lengthy.
This is as much as eight toes longer than the most important snake recognized to man and almost 17 toes longer than the present largest dwelling snake, the Associated Press reported this week.
The snake weighed as much as a ton, researchers mentioned in a Scientific Reports article printed on April 18.
The large reptile is believed to have roamed — or reasonably, slithered on — the Earth about 47 million years in the past.
Researchers who discovered the snake dubbed it “Vasuki indicus,” the AP mentioned.
