Some superstars have lucky colours, Ayden Sng, 29, has lucky snakes to thank for his maiden Star Awards win.
The star was among 3 stars to win the inaugural Most Popular Rising Star award, which is open to artistes who have actually remained in the business for 5 years or less. The other 2 winners are Best Actor winner Richie Koh and YES 933 DJ Gao Mei Gui.
In an interview with 8days.sg backstage, Ayden shared that he is born in the Year of the Rooster, which obviously has the worst luck of the 12 Chinese zodiac indications this year. To enhance his luck, he was recommended to use ox or snake products, which are his lucky signs.
Which is why he went for it to decorate his Star Awards attire with all sorts of snake-themed jewellery.
In overall, he used 6 snake jewellery pieces from Bulgari – a brand name understood for its Serpenti collection – 3 with each clothing.
The overall price of his sponsored bling? More than one million dollars.
“I have been working with Bulgari for the past three years. And just nice this year, I am supposed to carry a serpent with me, so it works great. I picked these clothes and jewellery and styled myself. I felt good wearing them. I think the whole ensemble and my lucky serpent made me feel filled with positive energy,” said Ayden.
