An Australian lizard was discovered by shocked employees when they opened a shipping container in Chichester.
West Sussex Wildlife Defense were called out to NJS Scaffolding in Quarry Lane, where staff unloading items from their shipping container discovered a 2 foot Eastern Australian Water Dragon lizard at the back of it.
Among the group’s rescuers Stan Jonas went to the scene and handled to capture the animal which had actually shown up in Chichester after a six-week journey from Brisbane in Australia.
He stated: “It was still vibrant, even after 6 weeks without any food or water.”
It was required to the RSPCA professional reptile system at Braypool Lane in Brighton to be looked after.
