BEMIDJI — Manidoo Ogitigann (The Spirit’s Garden) together with co-sponsors White Earth Tribal Community College and Watermark Art Center will host an Anishinaabe snow snake video games competition from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, at Paul Bunyan Park.
“Snow snake video games were initially utilized by Anishinaabe individuals to practice abilities utilized for hunting,” a release said. “Contests consist of dexterity, precision, range abilities and creative benefit.”
Anishinaabe writers will share historic legends the night prior to; time and place to be set up.
Manidoo Ogitigann is a Native American-led grassroots, not-for-profit organization in Bemidji that concentrates on safeguarding the Ojibwe language and way of living for the health of the surrounding neighborhoods and environment,” the release said.
