An AFLW match was placed on pause on Saturday after a slithering snake was noticed on the sphere.
The conflict between GWS and Richmond at Blacktown International Sportspark in New South Wales was delayed for half-hour at first of the third quarter, whereas the snake was being caught.
Footage posted to X, previously often called Twitter, exhibits the red-bellied black snake retrieved by a snake handler, who appears at full ease as he handles the reptile.
GWS (0-2) are eyeing their first win of the season towards the Tigers, who’re 1-1.
“It’s pretty interesting,” Giants head of ladies’s soccer Briana Harvey informed Fox Footy through the delay.
“There’s a little red-bellied black snake on the ground at the moment, just in one of the far pockets.
“Obviously for the safety of everyone here we need just to halt the game for the moment.”
Sports followers flooded the feedback after the long-lasting Aussie footage was shared.
“Make him the next AFLW cup ambassador,” one particular person wrote.
Another mentioned: “Good to see Ned Kelly was on hand”
“I’m watching it on TV here in the States and I’m like “What?!?” That’s a primary!” a 3rd commented.
The venomous snake species will not be thought of aggressive and can often retreat earlier than attacking.
