A young couple have actually opened an eccentric dog-friendly coffee shop in a North Staffordshire town. Nikki Todd, 27, chose to open Cafe 45, in High Street, Silverdale, with partner Jamie Sharman, 32, having actually had experience in the café trade.
Nikki, from The Westlands, said: “I assisted my mum [Sonya Whittaker] run her coffee shop, the Pit Stop on The Parade [Silverdale], for 5 years.
“When my mum chose to close the business on Wednesday May 17, the owners of this property asked me to open my own. I wished to kick-start my own profession and I have a lot of experience, so I believed ‘why not?’.
“I talked to my partner, Jamie, and we chose to start Cafe 45 together. It’s good to have a family-run business due to the fact that we can offer a more customised experience.

The coffee shop opened its doors on Tuesday, June 13 and cost around £2,500 to establish. It has eccentric, minimalist design, with a rustic feel. The most popular product on the menu up until now is the bacon and cheese filthy french fries, priced at £5.95.
