An Isle of Wight city council is stepping up efforts to fight the rising problem of canine fouling inside its group.
Ryde Town Council says It is dedicated to making sure that public areas stay protected and clear for all residents and guests.
Recent observations have proven an ‘alarming increase in instances of dog fouling’ on Ryde streets, parks and footpaths, the native authority stated.
Working in collaboration with Isle of Wight Council Environment Officers, the city council can be conducting common patrols to determine and deal with incidents of canine fouling.
If pet homeowners fail to wash up after their canine, they could face stringent penalties, together with a £100 Fixed Penalty Notice or perhaps a fantastic of as much as £1,000.
A spokesperson for Ryde Town Council stated: “We can upon all residents to join us in our efforts to maintain a clean and pleasant environment in Ryde.
“By responsibly disposing of pet waste, we can ensure that everyone can enjoy our public spaces.
“PLEASE… bag it and bin it! You can use any bin to place your dog poo in, there is no excuse!”
