York City man charged with severely beating German shepherd puppy Chance

A suspect within the beating that left the German shepherd puppy referred to as Chance severely injured has been charged. 

Charges had been filed Tuesday towards Terrell Dushun Harris, 35, of the 600 block of South Albemarle Street in York City, the York District Attorney’s Office stated in an announcement. 

Harris is charged with cruelty to animals, a second-degree misdemeanor, and aggravated cruelty to animals, a third-degree felony.

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force apprehended Harris on Wednesday. He was booked into York County Prison with bail set at $150,000.

Charges come six months after Chance was discovered Aug. 23 following a disturbance within the 400 block of Pershing Avenue, the place officers discovered the canine severely overwhelmed.
