World’s tallest male canine dies after amputation surgical procedure, proprietor says

(Gray News) – The world’s tallest male canine died simply days after having surgical procedure Friday to have his entrance proper leg amputated after a devastating bone most cancers analysis, in keeping with Guinness World Records.

“Recently, a beloved member of our family, our dear dog Zeus, has been diagnosed with cancer. He has been a loyal and devoted companion, bringing immeasurable joy and comfort to our lives,” proprietor Brittany Davis mentioned.

Davis posted an update on GoFundMe Friday saying the surgical procedure had gone nicely and his leg weighed 11 kilos.

“After surgery, they put a t-shirt on patients, but they didn’t have one big enough for Zeus. So, his oncologist literally gave Zeus her shirt,” she wrote.

Monday, Davis mentioned in an update that medical doctors observed the 3-year-old Great Dane wasn’t consuming and was extra torpid.

She mentioned his medical crew observed some bluing round his mouth, so that they did blood work and chest X-rays.

“They discovered he has aspiration pneumonia which means he has fluid and bacteria in his lungs,” Davis defined within the GoFundMe update.

Davis mentioned Tuesday Zeus had died.

“He fought hard, but the pneumonia was just too much. He is not in pain anymore. He is resting peacefully,” she wrote in an update on GoFundMe.

Davis mentioned Zeus’ medical doctors sat on the ground with him and their household and cried alongside them.

“Our baby boy is gone,” she mentioned. “Our hearts are broken.”

Guinness World Records mentioned Zeus was awarded the document for tallest male canine in March 2022 with a peak of three ft. 5.18 in.
