The play park off St James Street in Daisy Hill was just lately left in a multitude after a bin was set alight, garbage was ‘strewn in every single place’ and canine poo was smeared round it.

The ‘well-used’ playground was vandalised on the weekend of September 23-24 after which cleaned up on the Monday, September 25.
Cllr David Chadwick of Westhoughton South has requested for a substitute bin to be put within the place of the vandalised one and reported the incident to the police.
He says Greater Manchester Police are set to submit an arson report and want to determine the offenders.
Cllr Chadwick mentioned: “It was horrendous. I do not envy our groups who’ve to wash up this stuff.

“I do know that the groups that do that are fabulous. It is a horrible process we ask them to do, I do know they receives a commission, however I do commend the work they do.
