Feb. 22 (UPI) — An Arizona dog whose tongue is 3.74 inches longer than his snout was granted the Guinness World Record for longest tongue on a living dog.
The 3-year-old English setter, called Bisbee, was awarded the title after his owners, Tucson homeowners Jay and Ericka Johnson, chose to have the canine’s tongue determined by a vet.

The couple embraced Bisbee as a puppy at a charity auction and rapidly discovered his uncommonly long tongue.
“He simply looked truly out of proportion,” Ericka Johnson informed GWR.
Jay Johnson said he at first didn’t see Bisbee’s tongue as all that uncommon.
“I believed it was reasonably typical, however she took it upon herself to show me incorrect and had his tongue determined and lo and witness he’s got a long, long tongue,” he said.
GWR said the record needs the canine’s tongue to be determined from the suggestion of the snout, and Bisbee’s tongue was determined at a record-breaking 3.74 inches.
The longest tongue on a dog ever came from a Michigan fighter called Brandy. Brandy’s tongue determined 17 inches long prior to her death in 2002.
