An Escambia County volunteer firefighter was attacked by a canine after responding to a reported automobile crash with a trapped occupant Wednesday afternoon in Bratt, and the driving force of the automobile was arrested.
The Walnut Hill and McDavid stations of Escambia County Fire Rescue had been dispatched about 3:45 p.m. to the reported leisure automobile crash on North Highway 99 close to Hanks Road. The first firefighter to reach was a Walnut Hill volunteer in his private automobile. He reportedly arrived to search out the driving force standing exterior the automobile with two leashed dogs. As the firefighter walked towards the RV, one of many dogs attacked him.

The canine was shot by and Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputy that was already one scene. The canine died a short while later.

Witnesses stated Long was tased earlier than being arrested.
Long was booked into the Escambia County Jail Wednesday evening on costs of resisting an officer with out violence, felony intimidating or hindering legislation enforcement duties, and misdemeanor “dog owner reckless disregard”, based on jail data. His bond was set at $3,150.
