A Virginia guy remains in custody after shooting and eliminating a dog following a run-in with its owner, according to the Fairfax County Cops Department.

Roman Vyacheslavov Gorelov, 33, is charged with animal ruthlessness and careless discharge of a gun within 1,000 feet of a school.

Fairfox County cops stated officers reacted to a reported shooting soon prior to 10 a.m. on Friday.

When they got to the scene, officers identified a dog, a 2-year-old yellow Labrador and Beagle mix, with a gunshot injury. The dog was carried to an animal medical facility and eventually passed away.

The dog’s owner was standing beside it when officers got to the apartment or condo.

According to private investigators, Gorelov shot the dog throughout a spoken run-in with the owner in a breezeway of the apartment building.

The owner then got the dog and started to escape, however as he was trying to leave the location, Gorelov pursued them and fired numerous more chance ats the dog.

Gorelov went back to his neighboring apartment or condo after shooting the animal.

Cops called Gorelov after finding out of the event, and he surrendered himself to officers.

He was required to the adult detention center and is being held without bond.
