“She’s devastated,” Velasquez said. “She said she doesn’t want nothing else but her dog back for her birthday.”
Police said the theft happened on March 6 at about 5:35 a.m. in the 6200 block of Foster Street in an unincorporated area of Prince George’s County.
A lady is seen in the video walking up the actions of a home onto the deck and approaching Canela, the dachshund, who barks at the female consistently. “No,” “Sit,” “Come on,” the female says.
At one point, the female flexes down and Canela continues to bark consistently. As the female tries to touch the dog, Canela retreats. The female says, “No, no.”
The one minute and 35 seconds of video end there. Police said in a press release that the female “ultimately takes the dog” which another individual is “believed to be involved in the theft.”
Velasquez said Canela was outdoors in the yard however in some way survived an opening and made her method back to the front deck to be allow. By then, Velasquez’s stepfather, who had let her outdoors in the gated yard, had actually already left for work and the rest of the family was sleeping within, Velasquez said.
Velasquez said he was remaining at his granny’s when he got a call that early morning from his stepfather, who had actually gotten a Ring doorbell notice of somebody at the door. The Ring cam had actually recorded the female’s encounter with Canela.
