Dr. Swain tells Iowa information outlet KCCI 8 he made the choice as a result of there was nothing to lose … including inside days, the canine recovered after being on the point of loss of life.
Since then, he has continued to prescribe Paxlovid to different dogs battling extreme circumstances of the mysterious sickness.
Dr. Swain says he got here up with the answer after noticing the house owners of the struggling animals had not too long ago been sick with COVID … and their signs have been just like people.
He provides he put 2 and a pair of collectively when he observed the affected dogs appeared similar to he did when he spent 9 days within the ICU after being struck down with COVID.
The American Veterinary Medical Association says the mystery illness in dogs has been reported in at the least 14 States. As of now, there isn’t any official remedy, and labs throughout the nation are working extra time to offer an official trigger to the illness.
