Arbory and Rushen Commissioners are urging residents to report a canine proprietor who’s allegedly letting their pet ‘rip out’ tree saplings and protecting tubes.

The native authority believes an ‘uncontrolled’ canine has ‘wrecked’ Ballakilley Park, which is not but formally open to the general public.

Trees have been planted final yr by volunteers from native charities and businesses and has been maintained by the commissioners since then.

Anyone with data is requested to contact the native authority on 834501, which is able to then be handed on to the police.

Commissioner David Radcliffe mentioned: “There’s not a lot upkeep work to do over the winter so I hadn’t visited the location for a number of months so what I witnessed was fairly soul destroying.

“Hours of laborious work ruined by somebody who apparently thinks it’s okay for his or her canine to destroy Commissioners’ property and wreck many hours of volunteer work. It is obvious {that a} canine has been allowed to tear up the safety tubes, snap the stakes holding the tubes and in some circumstances rip up the timber too.

“It’s laborious to think about how the canine proprietor could be so irresponsible and the Commissioners will prosecute them if ample proof could be obtained.”
