There were 51 postal staff members throughout Nevada who were assaulted by dogs in 2015, that’s up from 31 back in 2021.
The occasion operates in part of its campaign promoting “Even good dogs have bad days.”
Safety suggestions for letter providers consist of:
- Not surprise a dog
- Keep their eyes on any dog
- Never presume a dog will not bite
- Make some sound or rattle a fence to notify a dog if going into a lawn
- Never effort to family pet or feed a dog
- Place their foot versus an outside swinging door to avoid a dog from getting away
