As we wrap up the 12 Days of Dogmas, we are looking for something special to do with our dogs for the holidays. So why not turn them into an artist?

Our own staff pup, Ladybug, is a big fan of art. Thanks to the doggy daycare that she tends to attend, the Good Dog Spot in Chicopee, Massachusetts, we know that our dog is rather talented when it comes to breaking out the paints and getting artistic. So what if you want your dog to be an artist this holiday season?

Not only has Ladybug been able to paint different signs over the years, but she has made some adorable craft projects with the help of her doggy daycare. And if you want to do that at home with your dog, we have some suggestions, tips, and we even found a video to show you how to turn your pup into a true artist.

For Dogmas we are helping you turn your dog into an Artist

Paw print ornaments are a big thing in terms of art that a dog can do in the comfort of their home. And while there are kits available for you to create garden stones, ornaments, and other paw print pieces. There are also instructions available online for how to make the dough yourself. And if you create the dough yourself, you don’t have to leave home to find that expensive kit.

Thanks to Dogvills, We know that it’s as simple as using salt, flour, and water to make the dough that you need for these ornaments. We have linked back to the recipe and steps needed to make an awesome ornament that is colorful and relatively easy, all things considered. This is one of those crafts that just about any dog can do, as long as they can sit still long enough for the impression of their paw to set in the ornament dough.

You can add some glitter, some paint, or just let it go natural. Whatever you choose to do, you have now immortalized your pup and their paw print in an ornament that can be hung all year long. Or, it can have a place of honor on the Christmas tree.

But that’s not the only paw print craft we love. There are also options where they use their paw to paint pictures. That is some thing that our stuff pup has done in the past with her doggy daycare. In fact, we have an entire collection of doggy art thanks to the doggy daycare that our staff pup attends. From wooden signs to art that would be perfect on the refrigerator, there are so many different projects that our pups paws can create. Check out this blog post if you want a simple paw print that you can frame. Another craft project we love, and that you can see at this blog post, is flowers made from paw prints. And this is a project that may inspire you to create other artistic designs with the help of your dog’s paws.

There are a lot of options for art that you and your dog can do together this holiday season. You can turn your dog into the ultimate artist and all it takes is a little creativity and the help of their pause. Check out the video below if you want to see one dog who is really taking the idea of being an artist to a whole new level.

We love the idea of ending Dogmas with some art that will last all year long. It will also help create memories that you and your pup will never forget.
