Luke Rockhold has actually criticised Tommy Fury’s battling design and is backing Jake Paul to win the mega face-off later on this month.
Paul and Fury are lastly set to battle on February 26, with previous battle date posts ponement varying from injury to visa problems.
Previous UFC star Rockhold, who left the promo this year, described why he believes the American will triumph in Saudi Arabia.
He informed Inside Fighting: “You gotta have a dog in you. He [Fury] ain’t got no dog in him. I’ve viewed him battle. He doesn’t even complete his punches. You understand, he has no dedication to completing it. He’s a program. He’s a program fighter. And I got Jake.
“And I don’t even think Jake has that much, like, he has commitment, at least. He doesn’t have patience. He doesn’t have that f****** mentality when he gets in the game, I think he’s blinded. He’s got that deer in the headlights, but at least he throws.”
Paul has a favorable record, beating Anderson Silva in his last battle in October, which was the most significant win of his profession so far.
Rockhold, however, says he wishes to battle Paul and would be a much better match for him, informing TMZ: “Stop attempting to combat little men. F****** [155] pounders. You’re a middleweight. If you wish to battle a middleweight, I got hands. We can do anything we desire. I actually don’t care. I’d beat that person in my sleep.
“I got some flexibility to do some things and as you can see, I like tossing hands nowadays.
“Fight people your own f****** weight. Straight up. And champions, a real champion, a real contender. A real someone who can put you on your a**, not old guys, 55-year-olds, or lightweights. You can’t even get above a welterweight, dog, So, step up.”
