Marie Hay and her 2 children were walking their husky on the seafront in Redcar, Yorkshire, on February 5, when they declare they were set upon by a set of bulldogs.
Cleveland Police validated the hospitalisations and are appealing for details concerning the reports of a dog attack.
A representative for the force said: “Police were contacted us to the beach near the caravan park at Redcar simply after 3pm on Sunday, 5th February to a report of a dog attack by 2 bulldog type family pets on a husky.
“Officers participated in the scene and took preliminary information consisting of a counter claims from the bulldogs’ owner.
“It’s comprehended a minimum of one dog got veterinary treatment and a guy and 3 ladies participated in health center for treatment – mostly for hand injuries.”
Marie said her dog, Naevia, needed life-saving treatment, which might lead to a vet’s costs of as much as £14,000.
She informed Teesside Live: [The] dog came by and smelled my dog and after that done a little scuffle and made a sound and after that simply got on her and bit her face and would not release.
“They didn’t have harnesses or leads, absolutely nothing at all. So there was no other way of getting them to get them off.”
She included that another dog then ran over and got on Naevia as members of the general public attempted to separate the battle.
Both Marie and her 20-year-old child Jessica were dealt with for bite injuries, with Jessica needing prescription antibiotics and a tetanus jab.
The mum said that she’s having a hard time to oversleep the wake of the supposed attack and feels “shocked and traumatised” by the experience.
