From Northumberland down to County Durham, the North East has some gorgeous beaches.
And in the summer season the shoreline can be loaded with households wanting to take pleasure in a day in the sun. But each year in between May 1 and September 30, a few of the area’s popular beaches end up being based on a dog restriction, avoiding owners from walking their dogs on the beach.
The restriction belongs to a Public Space Protection Order and anybody seen breaching the restriction might be prosecuted. So it is necessary to understand where the limitations remain in location.
A variety of dog restrictions are now in force on beaches in Northumberland, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Sunderland. While there were talks of a restriction being carried out on Seaham beach in County Durham in between 10am and 3pm from May till September, the council just recently revealed that following a public assessment, these propositions were not carried out.
These are the North East beaches where dogs are prohibited in between May 1 and September 30 each year.
