Then on Saturday, neighborhood members and Purdue alumni loved strolling alongside “Boilermaker Boulevard” to go to a bunch of tents containing shows and displays organized by Purdue schools and models, which stretched from the Purdue Gateway arch on the entrance to Stadium Mall all the way down to the Engineering Fountain after which on to Memorial Mall. Prominent among the many cubicles was the Purdue Veterinary Medicine tent that featured a crew of scholars from the Purdue University Veterinary Hospital Small Animal Primary Care Service. The college students have been led by Dr. Lori Corriveau, major care clinician, and accompanied by two furry companions – a black Labrador named Gimli and Dr. Corriveau’s cat, Baby Kitty. Another hit on the tent was the “Tick Toss” – a sport through which members might toss a tick figurine in opposition to a canine illustration on a board coated with Velcro patches. Those who bought the tick to stay on the canine gained a prize. In addition, giveaways and data available on the sales space offered passersby with a great introduction to the veterinary medical companies available on the Purdue University Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Corriveau and the scholars additionally fielded many questions on pet care and admission to veterinary faculty.
