Officers are appealing for details after a terrier was seriously hurt when it was assaulted by another dog in Darlington.
The little, brindle coloured terrier type dog was assaulted by a big, white American bulldog which was off its lead on Meynell Roadway, to the back of Morrisons, on the night of Thursday, November 3.
The event, which occurred at around 8pm, likewise left the owner of the lap dog with injuries as they attempted to step in to stop the attack.
The owner of the bulldog is thought to have actually existed when the attack occurred.
Anybody who saw the event, or has any details which might help the examination, is asked to get in touch with Performing Sergeant 9053 Dawson on 101, extension 209053, estimating event number 487 of November 3.
