SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. — A Tennessee crew making an attempt to rescue a canine trapped in a deep cave needed to alter their plans once they encountered a snoozing bear of their path. The canine was rescued, nevertheless it took a while.

According to a Facebook post by the Waldens Creek Volunteer Fire Department, the searching canine, named Charlie, spent three days in an “extremely narrow cave shaft” about 40 ft underground on English Mountain, positioned in Sevier County in japanese Tennessee.

Crews from three fireplace departments and a rescue squad got here to the cave on Tuesday, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported.

“As we’re about to head back out, I looked back one more time and I saw his antenna from his tracker collar,” one other firefighter, Christian Ellard, advised the tv station.

Crews “fashioned a harness for the dog and effected the rescue,” the fireplace division wrote on Facebook. “Charlie was quickly reunited with his happy owner.”

“There he is, come on big guy!” one man will be heard in a video posted by the fireplace division. “Come on, buddy.”

“Central command,” somebody will be heard hailing on a radio. “The dog’s been extricated.”

Charlie was dehydrated and hungry, however in “otherwise good condition,” the post read.
