An “injured and exhausted” dog needed to be rescued after it declined to move when its owners tried to walk pull back Scafell Pike, England’s greatest mountain.
A group of thirteen from Keswick Mountain Rescue Team assisted Rocky the Akita and his owners securely go back to Seathwaite Farm after the pooch suffered cuts to his paws.
“Despite being quite a large dog at 33kg it was a joy to carry such a relatively lightweight casualty,” rescuers said.
The National Trust reccommends that Scafell Pike is just appropriate for dogs utilized to long strolls in the fells.
