An 11-week-old spaniel puppy with six legs was lately discovered dumped in a B&M automotive park.

It’s thought breeders tossed the pup out attributable to her having two further legs – and never eager to foot the vet payments – leaving her to starve and freeze.

The spaniel puppy was discovered shivering exterior the shop in Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire.

She was shortly rushed to Fenton Vets in Haverfordwest by canine warden Sally Bland, from Greenacres Rescue, the place vets confirmed the pup had two extra hind legs and ‘the beginnings of a second vulva’ – in accordance with vet Charlotte Biddle.

Speaking about her situation, Charlotte added: ‘Her pelvis hasn’t shaped correctly attributable to an additional hip joint.

‘The plan would be to let her settle after her ordeal and reassess in one month with the aim of removing the additional limbs and exploring the function of her remaining leg. She is likely to need multiple surgeries.’

The workforce determined to christen the puppy as ‘Ariel’ attributable to somebody remarking that the canine appeared like a mermaid.

Despite her situation, vets are hopeful the additional two legs will be safely eliminated with surgical procedure and Ariel might be able to stay a standard life.

Mikey Lawlor of Greenacres Rescue mentioned: ‘Our bills for all the regular treatments to our animals currently average around £20,000 a month so naturally cases like these pose a huge burden on our already fraught resources.’
