Swale dog walkers advised to keep away from limited beaches

Dog walkers are being advised to deflect limited beaches in a quote to keep coasts tidy.

Swale council is prompting individuals to ensure they read check in the district which show their canine good friends are not allowed particular locations.

Between May 1 and September 30, dogs are not allowed limited locations and require to be kept leads on the boardwalks at 3 popular hotspots on Sheppey.

Minster Leas, at the boardwalk and beach from the Playa Pub and east to the vehicle ramp opposite Little Oyster Cafe, is one location where they are prohibited.

The guideline is likewise in location om Sheerness – at the boardwalk and beach from Jacobs Bank to the actions over the sea wall which cause the pool.

The last area remains in Leysdown, at the boardwalk and beach from Stokes Amusements to the beach actions and opposite the little roundabout at the seaward end of The Promenade Road.

A council spokesperson said: “With the summer weather now here and more of us enjoying Sheppey’s beaches, help us all to enjoy them by clearing up when you leave and not leaving any litter.

“We’d like to also remind dog owners and dog walkers there are public space protection orders (PSPOs) in place relating to dogs on our beaches.

“Keeping our borough clean is important to all of us, so please be aware enforcement officers will be patrolling the areas and issuing fixed penalty notices (FPNs) to anyone leaving litter or failing to comply with the dog-related PSPOs.”
