Suspect caught on doorbell digital camera hurling canine towards ceiling at Smyrna condo advanced

A heartbreaking animal cruelty case out of Cobb County. Animal management investigators are engaged on a felony canine abuse warrant after a person is caught on digital camera throwing a helpless canine. That canine is now secure and even has a reputation: Smokie.

Cobb County police have now secured an arrest warrant in an animal cruelty case that’s laborious to look at. 

They say 33-year-old James Moses was caught on ring doorbell video throwing a terrier combine towards a ceiling in a Smyrna condo advanced hallway.

“I’m upset, I’m mad. There isn’t any excuse on this planet for this,” Cobb County Animal Services’ director Steve Hammond defined.  

The director stated he was shocked and in disbelief after watching the ring video which has gone viral. It exhibits suspect James Moses throwing 4-year-old “Smokie” from the ceiling, to the ground on the Elevate West Village Apartments on Pine Street in Smyrna.

The canine’s proprietor informed police she left the terrier combine with Moses, who was her boyfriend.

“She’s devastated. She had no thought this had occurred. The canine had been left within the care of the individual, the gentleman who threw the canine,” Director Hammond defined.

Investigators say that is now a legal matter. They have issued a warrant for aggravated cruelty to animals towards 33-year-old suspect Moses.

A conviction on the cost carries a five-year jail sentence.

Smokie was evaluated by a veterinarian earlier than he was returned to his proprietor. (FOX 5 Atlanta)

“Right now, Smokey is being evaluated by our veterinarian. There doesn’t seem like any everlasting injury at the moment,” Director Hammond reported.

The canine was returned to his proprietor.

Cobb County authorities say in lots of animal abuse instances like this, the general public can and will assist.

“The old ‘see something, say something’ is vital. We know that animal abuse is tied to different crimes, like elder abuse, little one abuse, home violence and even organized crime,” Director Hammond concluded.

Police haven’t but positioned the suspect, Moses. If you see him, please encourage him to show himself in.
