Sunderland XL Bully attack LIVE: Man mauled to dying named as ‘light dad’ out walking canine

The sufferer of a ferocious attack by an XL Bully – now being handled as homicide – has been named by a detailed pal as Ian Langley, 54, identified to pals as Scouse.

The father of 1, initially from Liverpool, had been walking Beau, his Patterdale terrier puppy near his home in Shiney Row when he was attacked. Mr Langley, who lived alone, doted on Beau, who had turn out to be his devoted companion.

Police stated this morning that the sufferer’s subsequent of kin have been knowledgeable and are being supported by specially-trained officers.

Friend Rachael Barron, 31, advised the Mirror: “It’s completely devastating that this has occurred to him, he’s a beautiful, type man. He’s very slight of build and couldn’t damage a fly, he would have stood no likelihood in opposition to a canine as massive as that, it makes me really feel sick to consider it.

“Scouse would come to our home three or 4 occasions a day and would keep for meals or simply to talk. He break up up together with his companion a short while in the past and lived alone however he appreciated firm so would come over simply to talk and he was pretty with our kids.

“He has a son of his personal who lives overseas, it’s such a tragedy for him as properly. Yesterday Scouse went to the native church the place he had his lunch and got here to ours later as a result of he’d left Beau with us to take care of.

“He was completely satisfied, he stated he’d had a beautiful meal and was completely satisfied to return again to Beau. He completely beloved his canine, he was an actual canine lover. His canine Smudge, which he’d had for a lot of years, died fairly not too long ago and he did not know what to do with himself with out him.

“My companion and I inspired him to get one other canine and we discovered him Beau, who he acquired when he was eight weeks old. They have been collectively on a regular basis and he was all the time out walking him.
